I began working with Sue Wilkowski in June 2005 while we worked together for Camp Lindenmere. Sue, already a published children’s book author (Baby’s Bris), was in need of a portrait for her up-and-coming book The Bad Luck Chair. Shot outdoors the portrait achieved exactly what both Sue and I had hoped: The photo was able to reproduce Sue’s fun and exciting personality. Sue’s photo was shot digitally and minor retouching for color correction was completed using Adobe Photoshop.

After shooting Sue’s portrait I was asked to create a fun, kid-friendly (and mother approved!) personal website for Sue. Meeting in spring 2006 and throughout summer 2006 I designed and developed a fun and vibrant site that reflects Sue’s personality throughout the site. The site, a custom WordPress theme was built to xHTML 1.0 Transitional and CSS 2.0 standards. Using Fahrner Image Replacement methods all browsers get exciting eye catching headings and even “spooky” inline images, too. Originally developed for the website, but never put into use was a calendar application for Sue to use to promote her books and create a community around her website.

Future projects with Sue include creating instructional sheets for Making Magnets (a tie in to her book) and a “Grown-Ups” for creative and exciting kid friendly projects for the classroom and home.
